Frequently Asked Questions
If you have any other questions feel free to ask away
I don’t follow a denomination. I attend a non-denominational church, but I don’t classify myself as a “Protestant non-denominational.” Denominations aren’t mentioned in the New Testament. They’re man-made, formed because humans often disagree on interpretations of Scripture. Being divided into sects is not something Jesus would have supported during His earthly ministry.
I believe in salvation through faith and faith alone. James 2:14–26 speaks deeply on this. Yes, faith without works is dead, because works (or fruits) are the natural byproduct of genuine faith in Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We will never earn our salvation into heaven.
Where does your identity stem from?
Absolutely. I have several pastors and elders in my life who I regularly seek for wisdom, advice, and accountability. I believe having spiritual mentors is vital, especially in ministry. I’m a strong advocate for discipleship because I know how important it is to be poured into before I can pour into others. I know I can’t do it alone, and I don’t try to. Staying connected to people who help me grow in Christ keeps me spiritually grounded and strong.
I serve as a volunteer with 8th graders in a youth ministry, where I get to walk with students through the twists and turns of Middle School. In addition, I’m an active part of a young adult group, Community, accountability, and discipleship are the foundation of everything I do.
What denomination are you?
My identify first and foremost is found on being a child of God. My identity isn’t based on the country my parents are from, how many likes I get on Instagram, or any political party governed by man. I’m a college student, but I don’t find genuine fulfillment in my current major or my job title. My ultimate identity must be rooted in Christ. His truth, His purpose, and His way. So I’m not easily swayed by human opinions, status, or labels.
This verse gives me peace when I'm struggling with identity and self-esteem: Philippians 2:10-11 "That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
You're kind of young, Are you being discipled?
